Sonia designed Sofitel Dubai’s Advent Calendar at the end of last year, creating a piece that centres on the idea of golden light as a symbol of elegance, celebration and the brand’s Candle Ritual. The artwork is luminous and airy, using a refined palette of soft gold, white and champagne tones to achieve a contemporary festive atmosphere. Rather than relying on literal imagery, Sonia developed abstract patterns, glowing circles and subtle palm references to suggest warmth, champagne bubbles and the spirit of Dubai in a sophisticated, understated way.

The circular format brings a sense of balance and harmony, while the finely rendered gold numerals and delicate detailing enhance the overall sense of luxury. The finished design feels elegant, uplifting and unmistakably Sofitel, blending Parisian refinement with a celebratory Dubai sensibility. The inclusion of a candle at the centre reinforces the concept and completes the piece.
